The Greater Los Angeles Walk for Wishes will be held on June 21, 2014 at Exposition Park. Powered by wish kids and families, volunteers, donors, corporate sponsors and friends, Walk For Wishes is a nationwide Make-A-Wish® signature fundraiser that celebrates the thousands of wishes that have already been granted, while raising funds for future wishes.
FUNraise: Make-A-Wish® Greater Los Angeles grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The average cost of a wish is $7,500. The impact of a wish is priceless.
Your support as a walker, team leader or sponsor will not only help us grant 350 wishes this year, you will provide what every child deserves, a moment to just be a child: to dream, laugh, play and be free of a routine of doctors, hospitals and treatment.
Celebrate: After walking though Exposition Park’s 160 acres, there’s a lot for the entire family to enjoy! The post-walk festivities will include fun, food and entertainment. From face painting to crafts, there is something for everyone.
You also can experience the fun of science, math and technology learning at the California Science Center, explore natural and cultural worlds at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, discover the recently renovated California African- American Museum or simply relax in the splendor of the Rose Garden. The landmark Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Sports Arena offer the excitement of world-class competition, while the EXPO Center is a hub of recreational activity for the neighborhood.
